"From Whole School to Whole System Reform"
On April 26-April 27, 2004, the National Clearinghouse for Comprehensive School Reform, the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, New American Schools, and the Consortium for Policy Research in Education will host an invitational conference entitled "From Whole School to Whole System Reform."
The conference will critically review whole school change throughout its history, identifying effective implementation strategies, examining the role of reform support organizations, and gleaning lessons learned. While the school serves as the unit of change for whole school reform, the conference will focus on how to make connections that situate the school within a system and in the context of larger city/community-wide efforts or larger currents.
Michael Fullan, Dean of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto and expert on the topic of educational change, will deliver a keynote address.
Please save the dates of April 26 and 27 for "From Whole School to Whole System Reform."
